"I wish I could fly"
Today when I was getting the boys out of the car at daycare, Jack looked up at the sky and pointed and said "Mama, it's gorgeous!"
I replied: "It is gorgeous buddy, isn't it? I can see the moon."
He very seriously looked up at me and said "I wanna fly. It's gorgeous."
How can a 2 year old think such beautiful things? It's amazing.

Kids say the darndest things!
My kids say so many dear things, it's so hard to keep track of them all. I thought I'd take a chance to document some recent good ones:
"ear hats" (Summy) headphones
"penis water" (Summy) pee, or urine. (Sorry if TMI, but it makes sense, and cracks me up)
" mowing the carpet" (Summy) vacuuming
"train screaming" (Jack) the sound of the train whistle. To which Jack replies, "TRAIN! Stop screaming!"
"turning on the dark" (Summy) what Summy calls turning the lights off sometimes.
"flying in the water" (Summy) swimming
We were all on the big chair and a half in the living room and the boys had pulled my shirt up and Jack was blowing raspberries on my belly. I was laughing and then they both took turns doing it, all of us really hysterical over how funny it was. Jack blew a raspberry and looked up, deadpan, and said, "Mama, I hear thunder!" I thought I was going to pee myself.

The Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich
This is a repost of something I worte for another site, but I thought I would share it on my blog as well!
I was running late for work, and was trying to juggle my purse, my 2 year old twins' daycare bag, breakfast, and my grade book as I made my way slowly to the car. I herded my boys ahead of me repeating "climb in your seats, please" for what seemed like the thousandth time. It wasn't until a few minutes after I pulled out of the driveway that I realized: I'd forgotten my lunch.
My husband makes my lunch most mornings. I am an elementary teacher, and the few moments I get at lunch time can be like a mid-day vacation. My husband making my lunch for me is an act of romance in itself. I knew that this particular morning my husband had made me peanut butter and jelly...a childhood favorite I had been in the mood for that day.
I picked up my cell phone and called home. My husband immediately answered, and I explained my predicament loudly over the voices of my toddlers in the backseat. Without missing a beat, he said:
"I'll bring it to you on my way to work."
I could finish this story, and tell you about how he met me in front of my elementary school, brown bag in hand, but you know what came next. What you don't know is that romance is in the big things, but it is in the little things too. It was just a sandwich in a bag, but to me it was a random act of romance that showed much more than flowers, chocolates, or jewelry what true love is all about. It's about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

2 and a half

Today my tader babies are two and a half. I really don't know where time goes. I can tell you that I am immensely proud of the boys they are becoming. They are still toddlers, but definitely starting to lose their toddlerness. They have opinions, and things they like, and things they do that are so hilarious I can't help but laugh out loud. Long ago, when I cried at every BFN and cycle that passed and didn't think that I'd ever have a child, I couldn't have imagined these two beings that have changed me so throughly. I am so lucky.
The above was taken on our Florida vacation to the beach. It just sums it all up. I have always wished I could know what it is like to be a twin. Brothers, twins, they share so much. I am lucky to be able to share this lifetime with them both.
