Where have we been?

It's been a big week! Lots going on! Yesterday Miss M came to visit us in anticipation for me returning back to work and the boys going to have TONS of fun at her house with her and her twin girls! The boys had a great time, and D and I did too, I was just very sad to think of the prospect of returning back to work! It's overwhelming. I know it's only going to be a hard transition for me, and I'm honestly hoping it goes better than I worry it will.

Tomorrow is the boys big developmental assessment to see how far "behind" they are from being preemies/in the NICU/etc. I am curious to see how they do, and know that everything should be based off their "adjusted age" which is 2 months before their chronological age.

Thursday is Jack's big visit with the GI doctor. We haven't seen an episode of barfing (exorcist style) since the day of our 4 month appointment, but we are still having some feeding and appeitite issues. Hopefully we'll get some answers.

The 19th the boys are being baptised and we're having a big shindig! It should be lots of fun!

Sum is currently OBSESSED with his taggie blanket. I never knew how kids picked loveys, but this might be it for him. I took it away from him for a minute to change his diaper and he actally cried! We gave them each their blankets on Saturday to see if they wanted to gnaw on them, and Summy's in love.

Jack's been doing a LOT of talking and singing. Yesterday he wore himself out so throughly, he fell asleep for 2 hours in the evening on the bed with Bode, and we tucked a blanket around him and let him sleep.

The boys lost their "ramps" in their crib last night too with much success. We haven't had an episode of reflux in so long we thought we'd give it a try, and it worked.

We're starting to notice the boys like to roll to their sides more, so we are anticipating the beginnings of rolling over. We've also seen lots more of them holding their heads up!

Enjoy the pictures...5 months a little late, holding their heads up...and I'll post more!

Hooray hooray!

Both boys lifted their heads while doing "tummy time" in their boppies today! Sum was especially impressive, but after about 3 minutes collapsed on the boppy and decided to talk to his hand instead. Jack kept his up over 5 minutes. I'll post a pic as soona s I get them off the camera!

Reasons why my husband should give me a massage

I discovered a cure for my insomnia! I finally convinced D to give me the back rub I have been anxiously awaiting (red: that he keeps putting off and had "owed" or "promised" me for weeks) and finally got a long, restful night of sleep last night. For the first time in MONTHS. No waking up and tossing a full galss of water behind me for no apparent reason, not checking the monitor 18 times while apparently asleep (I'm not sure why this is happening because even if I were awake, I can't see a bleeping thing without my glasses anyway) no more thoughts that people with flashlights are breaking in, and no more trying to buffer myself with a cat to prevent being stabbed by said intruders.

Unfortunately for D, now that I have the knowledge he can ensure my sleep, he's going to have some very tired arms.

1. Because when mommy's happy, everyone is happy
2. Sleep-deprived me is not pretty.
3. People are starting to think I'm crazy (esp: )

Sleep, what sleep?

And if you're wondering why I am posting at this ungodly hour, it's because I can't sleep anymore. Welcome to motherhood.

And today I found out I have mastitis again. It's mastits: round 3. Winner take all.

5 months, and David's first feature film

The babies were 5 months last Sunday. Sorry for the delay, I know your were waiting with baited breath/had it marked on your calendar/rushed out and purchased your own 5-month-birthday-cake to celebrate too!

Sunday was spent visitng with Mamaw, David's sister Amie, his brother Aaron, his wife Alana, and our cutie-patootie niece Emma, and various and sundry other Anderson family members.

Pictures to follow soon!

David (with the help of Uncle Mike) has completed his first feature film: "Summy and Jack, the early years." Which should be more aptly termed "Summy and Jack, the NICU weeks" but he refuses to change the title. Supposedly it's a work in progress. Look forward to seeing it a million times if you are anywhere near the vicinity of our house. He already has me working on getting it on youtube.

I can't help it

This is seriously funny. I hadn't read this blog for a LOOOOONG time (read: years) but the accounts of her preemie (29w 6d) and this made me pee my pants. Seriously.

David's Mamaw has taken a turn for the worse. Please continue to pray for her.
The babies LOVED the fireworks on Tuesday. They both watched intently, and Sumner actually fell asleep halfway through and slept through the finale! I'll upload pics soon.

Also, today Jack held his head up on his own for the first time!

Our 4 month pictures, a little late! Sorry...tried to upload before an blogger was having problems!
