Some pictures of the tader tot at 28 weeks. He looks like Summy in the eyes and nose, (and has his ginormous head) and looks a lot like Jack in the lips/chin. (And has his super long legs and fingers.)
He's measuring big... like they estimated 3 lbs 4 oz. Eek.
Things have been going well this pregnancy. I will freely admit that the anxiety has increased as I get closer to the 28w mark, which is when I had the first bleed with the boys. Last evening and all through today I've had some cramping/pain, but I'm just taking it easy, and pretty sure it's because the baby is so active and everything's spreading out to make room for him to grow!
His measurements looked great, if not slightly ahead of schedule. He's got really long arms! He's also extremely active...I've been feeling kicks since 17 weeks!
We were both shocked that "he" was not a "she." For some reason we'd both had a feeling it was a girl this time around, but we've both really warmed up to the idea of another boy...we sure know how to handle boys already!
A slight pang of fear over autism/sensory issues/etc. also haunted me, but I've tried to put it out of my mind.
Here they are! The first is baby A. It kind of scares me a little...The second one is an amazing picture of baby A's face.
Baby B! Baby B is our shy guy. He was in the fetal position, and we didn't get the best face view in the second picture, mainly the ear, and side of his head!
Here is is! The second picture shows the head of one twin, and the "tidy bowl" shot (As Dr. V called it) of the butt, legs, and family jewels, showing it is a boy. The other tot had the umbilical cord between its legs, so we couldn't see anything...
I got the flu shot. Our next appointment is the level 2 ultrasound on Nov 22nd, and we are hoping to see the gender of the other tot.
Our first appointment with Dr. V was on Friday and it was wonderful! I thought she was really nice, and she told us exciting news: we're going to have an u/s at every visit! I will scan and post my u/s pictures tomorrow when I get to school!
We had lots of ?s and I didn't feel rushed or anything. She spent a lot of time with us answering everyhing.
I'm so happy we switched.
When she did the ultrasound, one of the babies actually raised its arm and waved to us. At first they were both just lying there with their ankles crossed, then the first one waved. Then, the second one started moving a ton! It looked like it was dancing! It was so surreal because I couldn't feel it!
When I started this blog, I originally thought it was going to be a taderbaby...we chose the nickname after the delicious spuds served at Young's Jersey Dairy...but quickly found out it was tader tots! At 28 weeks gestation my placenta started abrupting and I was briefly hospitalized, then put on strict bedrest. At 31w 4d I was let up for an hour a day. At 32w on the dot, I was re-admitted for bleeding and began a four day fight to stop labor which I lost on 2.15.07 when Jack's placenta abrupted fully. If I hadn't been at the hospital, we wouldn't have made it. Upon birth, Jack's apgar was 3. The boys spent 4 weeks in NICU and this is their story, and mine.
