Apple Orchard Overalls GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

Apple Orchard Overalls GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

An amazing undertaking

I belong to a wonderful message board of mothers of multiples on thenest.com. It's truly an amazing community...many of the blogs I read belong to women I have "met" on there. One of our MoMs (mother of multiples) had the wonderful idea to pitch a show idea to Oprah: a favorite things episode for mothers with multiples. With the rise in twin pregnancies in the celebrity world, she thought it would be nice to hear what multiples are like from a "normal person's" perspective. No nannies, chefs, personal trainers...just real women struggling to parent 2 or more born at the same time. At the minimum (even if we never make it on Oprah) it's a beautiful way to hear the stories of many courageous, amazing women. Check it out!

In other news, we are under the belief that our computer has a trojan, so I am writing this post from D's work laptop. My BIL to-be is going to come work on it this week, but we may need a reformatting. Good news is that after 5 hours last night, I was able to get all the photos off. If I lost the pictures of the boys, I would be devastated!!! Hopefully we can get it working right again soon.

The first week of daycare/teaching is over!!! Daycare has been a rough transition, but the boys seem to be doing slightly better with it. Both are now sick with colds. Hopefully they'll feel better soon!

Hope everyone out there is well! Say an extra prayer we can fix our computer!

18 months old!

Today my boys are 18 months old. My tiny babies, who lived at the NICU, and put their tiny preemie hands in front of their face, and waved them in the air. My little grunting, groaning babies. Where has time gone? I took pictures earlier and plan to load them tomorrow, but for now, my 18 month old babies:

Sumner (Summy) You are so sweet, cuddly, and loving. You love to cuddle and climb up frequently to sit in my lap. You are so funny...often saying "jack sit down" and "Jack Jack...no no no!" You love to talk on the pretend phone, and we can't help but laugh when you laugh on your "phone call." You love animals so much, particularly our cats. You have a certain sound you make when things make you happy. You love to splash and play in the water. You sometimes get scared at night. You love cheese, and fruit, and marshmallows. You really love to push your push toys. It's hard to wake you up in the morning and after naps. Your hair sticks up sometimes like a rooster! You always rub food in your hair. You mostly say "dada" and not "mama." You love to repeat words after I have said them. You are darling, precious, and wonderful.

Jackson (Jack) You are so independant. You love to talk, and will talk the ear off of anyone who will listen to you. You love to walk, to climb, and you are so determined. If you don't get it right the first time, you try again and again. You are ornery. You think that all the animals meow. You constantly surprise us with the things you say. (Today when I told you it was time to leave daycare, you said "I don't want to go.") You give kisses freely. You love to read and often bring me books to read to you. You love to point out lights. You love carbs and sweets, and chicken nuggets. Especially with ranch dressing. You primarily say "mom" and not "dad." When you dance, it looks like you are headbanging: frequently you fall over you get so into it. You make silly faces, and you love to make others laugh. You are spirited, strong, and loving.

I love you my baby boys. You aren't babies anymore. You're really toddlers.

Today at our 18m pediatrician. appointment Jack weighed in at 18 lbs 13 oz and Sumner 20 lbs 2 oz She thought the boys looked AOK! She also said we should consider Sumner a walker as he is now consistantly taking 5-6 steps in a row, and sometimes more. We met our daycare teachers. (Daycare starts Monday) and we spent our last night with Aunt e and Uncle j before baby puff arrives on Monday.

I'll post 18m pictures tomorrow.

10,00 views, Sumner's 17 steps in a row, and HOLY CRAP!

I've hit 10,000 views! I can't believe it! I didn't even know there were that many people out there reading, and I truly appreciate each and every one of you. When I started this blog a long time ago, it was a way to chronicle my prgnancy after a long journey down the path of infertility. Now it has become a way to share the joys (and sometimes trials) of parenting, but more importantly a way to communicate with many many fabulous people in the world of "blogland." I have met some amazing people...dealing with infertility, mothers of multiples, mothers in general, people from the nest, friends near and far. I feel so blessed to have such a loving, extended group of people who care about me and my family. Thank you for that!

This morning Sumner took 17 steps in a row. Now I know what you are saying: he is walking! Unfortunately not...he took a lot in a row, but walking is not even close to the primary mode of transportation--crawling is. But we are very hopeful, as his first true "step" was only really a little over a week ago. When he puts his mind to it...he moves fast!

I cannot believe the response to my last post... most.comments.ever! It looks like #3 might be the winner, but I am still tallying. Thanks for all your feedback!

I'm still sorting through vaca pics, so bear with me!

Fields of Gold Frock GIVEAWAY!!!!

Fields of Gold Frock GIVEAWAY!!!!

Paperdoll Frock GIVEAWAY!!!!

Paperdoll Frock GIVEAWAY!!!!

We're home safely!

I cannot say that our drive down, or back for that matter, went quite the way we planned. We left at the babies' bedtime, assuming they would sleep the whole way. Unfortunately, they had other plans. They didn't sleep NEARLY as well as we had hoped, and so we spent many a pained day and night trying to get them back on track, only to head home and be back in baby hell again. Summy in particular is having a really rough time. It's hard not to laugh when he tantrums, throws his spit (his new "angry" thing is throwing his spit at you, or trying to) scoots backward screaming, and flails like a dead fish. It's actually hilarious because you feel for the little guy. But it wears on you.

I am proud to say I did more than 1/2 of the drive back. But this left me no patience for the above mentioned antics. And when Summy is overtired, his night terrors return as well. Fun.

Just about the time I get them back to being sane babies, they'll be starting daycare, and have a new transition.

I am in total denial that school starts for me on the 18th. TOTAL denial. I cannot bear the thought. I want to run and hide somewhere with the babies so I don't have to. I want to kick, scream, tantrum, and throw my own spit.

So today and yesterday have primarily involved us passed out trying to catch up on sleep. I have one picture to share, my favorite from the vacation. The light was great but my battery died in my camera...bummer. But here are my beach bums, looking precious. I promise to try to post more pics and catch up on everyone out there in blogland ASAP.

Summy took a step!

I cannot believe I am even posting this, but this evening, Summy stood up right in the middle of the floor, and took ONE step! I cannot believe it! I am so excited!!!!

Also, today we were at Homegoods and Jack walked right up to a lady in the aisle and said "you in the way." She said "I am in the way!" and moved! LOL!

We leave tomorrow night and should be back home from vacation Monday.

Way to go Summy!!!!
