Here I am!

I am here! Things have been crazy with getting unpacked, trying to get settled, and the last 21 days of school coming very quickly! We've had a rough two days here and without much detail, I'd appreciate you sending a prayer of strength to me. Everyone's OK, just dealing with an issue that is very frustrating and is making us crazy.

I promise to update more this weekend!

Moving Day

As I sit here in our old house, the walls are bare and the rooms almost empty. It is bittersweet. This is the house we crossed the threshold as newlyweds in. This is the house David gave me injections in so I could get pregnant with the boys. This is the house we brought our babies home to. So many tears, prayers, laughs, memories. This place is so special to us. I cannot believe tomorrow we will leave it behind.

I'm sad, but I'm ready. Tomorrow we move to our new house, and service disconnects here and we'll be online again tomorrow night. Wish us luck, and we'll see you on the other side!

Love.

This is why I love my boys.

This and a thousand other reasons. Summy running up and down the hallway naked, laughing hysterically. Summy and Jack talking in "twinspeak." Jack trying to roll down the driveway on the furniture dolly he somehow managed to carry out there by himself. Summy telling me "I'm scared" tonight at bedtime. How does he even know what scared means?

I love them.

Happy Easter! (and an egg hunt)

Our day in pictures:

Peeking through Papaw's mail slot. Jack is on the other side of the door.

The egg hunt!

Summy with Aunt CC and Uncle Mike

Today we went to church, my Papaw's for a meal and an Easter egg hunt my mom planned. It was so much fun and the boys had a lovely day.

David's mom gave us a Volkswagon bus outfit (D loves VW Busses) and then we found out it was twin boys! I scoured ebay and pieced together another matching outfit. It was a great day to wear them!

Update

Barring anything crazy happening during the appraisal on Tuesday, we'll be moving on Saturday, and our house will have new owners a week from Friday. I was so sad, but now I am really excited about moving in to our new house. I simply can't wait.

We've been packing and moving and moving and packing. We've done a really great job: the garage and attic are empty, and most of the rooms have only essential furniture left in them.

The boys are getting excited too. They love the new house and knowing they are going to have a cool new playroom makes me even happier. They have been "helping" move. Today they each got to push the garage door button and make the door go up and down. Jack also rose down the driveway on a furniture dolly a few times with David.

Today they've really been doing their twin thing as well. In the car they were talking to each other and laughing in a jibberish I don't understand, and tonight at dinner they kissed and hugged each other over and over. Jack is always calling for "Nummy" to "come here" or "sit down." It is so cute.

Happy Easter to all! May the meaning of the holiday make us all thankful for what we have, and that He died for us. Tomorrow after church we're having lunch at my Papaw's and my mom's going to have an Easter egg hunt in his back yard. I'll be sure to post pictures!

Out of the mouths of babes

I was wearing a sports bra yesterday and sitting on the carpet, when Jack approached me very insistently. He pointed to my chest and told me I was wearing a "bee-boo diaper." I practically passed out.

Painting at the new house is pretty much done. Touch-ups and bashing my head into a wall notwithstanding, it's primarily done. Thank you God!

A day at the zoo

Last week over spring break I took the boys to the zoo. It was so amazing how much things change in 6 months. They were so excited about the animals. Summy really loved the tiger, they both loved the flamingos, and Jack loved the manatees and fishes. It was awesome to see how excited they got, and hear them naming animals!
