In contract!

It's official! As of 5 pm today we are in contract! Looks like we get to move in 2 weeks!!! I couldn't be happier. It's like a huge weight has lifted off of me. The whole thing is so surreal, really. We've had the "new" house for a month now and now we're going to be there before we know it!

-isms

My sister in law, Alana, has an awesome blog about the "-isms" my darling niece has a tendency to say from time to time. ( visit her here ) So I thought today I'd share some -isms of the boys the last few days.

Jack has trouble with his "s" sound, so a lot of things that start with an s get changed to starting with an n. This has led to fruit snacks being called "nacks" but more hilariously, Summy, whose name used to sound like "Mun-yah" when Jack said it, has now become "Nummy." Even Summy has started calling himself Nummy. It is so stinkin cute.

Today we were briefly visiting the new house and Summy was going up and down the stairs. (A favorite pastime, as we live in a ranch.) The new carpet that was installed on Friday looks awesome. Summy was so pleased, he told us it was "gorgeous." No idea how he learned that word, but it was too much!

Lots has been happening with the sale of our house and we are at a big turning point today. We should know more by Monday, at least whether it is in contract or not. Say an extra prayer for us. I keep telling myself what is meant to be is meant to be.

All worn out

The last few weeks have been filled with so much painting, my hands have blisters. The house is coming along. Some days it feels quickly, some days it feels slowly. Carpet goes in on Friday. This week is spring break for me but I will spend all my free time painting. We had success with putting the boys down at the new house this weekend which helped us get a lot more done.

On our current house front, we've had WAY more activity than we anticipated. We're just hoping someone bites soon. Say a prayer for us!

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and wishes and sorry for not keeping up with blogs in the meantime.

"sticker man"

I have to blog about Summy tonight so I can remember the things he did today forever. Summy's been worrying me a lot lately...the OT wants to up his therapy for sensory issues, he's been having issues with biting and tantrums in his classroom...he's just been worrying me all around.

We went to Lowe's to buy paint for the new house and the woman at the customer service desk gave each of the boys a sticker. It was of spiderman. I told Summy and Jack "You have a spiderman sticker." Summy repeated back "spider man" quite a few times on the way to the car.

In the car, Summy became upset because he was afraid he had lost "sticker man." I laughed so hard I cried! Forever now we will call spiderman "sticker man." Almost the entire car ride he kept saying "WOW! Sticker man!"

Summy loves his daycare teacher so much that the whole way home in the car after school, he announces "love you, Kari!" (sounds like Care-wee) in his loudest voice. Today he said "love you Care-wee" all evening.

At Lowe's while he was in the cart, he was trying to get my attention and called out "Meghan! Meghan!" He sometimes makes phone calls to "Meghan-mama" as well.

Finally, in the car on the way home from Lowe's, the All American Rejects song "Give you hell" Came on the radio and to our horror, Summy sang "gives you hell" at just the right time in the song.

Guess we need to change the channel!

Singin'

There's been a whole lot of singing at our house the past few weeks. Jack has become SO fanatical about "The Wheels on the Bus" that if he gets into a particularly rousing rendition, he can actually fall over from excitement.

One of the boys' friends at school, Andrew, celebrated his birthday last Friday and ever since we've been singing "Happy birthday to yoooooooou." My favorite recipients:

Bode
Humprey
Lefty
cookies
(tonight on the phone) Nana and Papa

Jack loves to sing the ABC song, and they both love to sing twinkle twinkle. It is so darling. I hope they grow to love music a much as David and I do!

Stressed

What to say? I am stressed. Stressed about selling our home. Stressed about getting our new home ready, stressed. A thousand pounds of it on my shoulders.

I've been sick since Thursday. At first I thought it was stress, but now I am thinking I really might have a bug. Finally able to eat a small amount of food today, thankfully. However, being sick led to us not getting as much done at the new house this weekend as I envisioned.

Stressed about the boys. Summy hasn't been doing art projects at daycare at all unless they involve coloring. He won't have a thing to do with paint, glue, or anything messy. I am trying not to worry. I am trying not to tie this to possible sensory issues, which he has always sorta had.

Work is stressing me out. What my job looks like next year might change. Who I work with will as well.

I try not to stress, but I am a worrier by nature. The only thing that keeps me from not stressing is remembering how lucky I am to have this:
