In the spring, the husband of Meghan A gave her a $200 necklace bearing one opal and two amethysts.
The twin sons of the Westerville couple were born eight weeks early and spent almost a month in the hospital.
With her children's health the ultimate gift, she said, she considered his gesture a nice surprise.
"I think my husband felt a little sorry for me," said the elementary-school music teacher, 29. "It wasn't like 'Oh, I need a present.' But he did a good job."
