Decorations... very hungry caterpillar party!

We had the party at a local clubhouse and we spent hours decorating the room. Caterpillars made of balloons:

I made the cake...it was many many cupcakes. I painted caterpillars and a large apple for the wall. We made caterpillars out of balloons, and we ate all the food the caterpillar ate. I made cute table cards for each food saying "on _____ he ate ___" We used primary colors: mostly green yellow and red with a little blue. Primary tablecloths, primary balloon bunches. We bought the very hungry caterpillar game for older kids to play.

Erin made the invitations. They turned out lovely! Please be sure to visit her website!

*gasp* What a FUN party!!! Did you just paint the caterpillar? I'm a preschool teacher and the wheels are already spinning... I've got to have that in my room:)

What a fun Mommy!

I ainted them...yep. Once with one coat, then another for texture. Our art teacher does them with the first graders...cut out circles, make eyes...you could use googly eyes...

Hi there! I just wanted you to know that I have been planning my middle son's 4th birthday party with the same theme. Thank you so much for these ideas. I love the balloon decorations and the idea for the cake!
I guess we have several things in common, including our ideas and the fact that I'm also an elementary school general music teacher with a band, keyboard and strings.
Many blessings to your family and your boys are beautiful!
